Bloodlines by Richelle Mead
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I do so like Richelle Mead’s writing – everything is really good. Characters, plot, action, intrigue..it all just works. I have to say, I was never a big fan of Sydney in the Vampire Academy novels and I wasn’t really all that enthused to read this one, but now after reading it, I have changed my tune. I am still a ‘Rose’ fan, but Sydney has certainly grown on me, and while some of her methods of getting to the answer, and getting the job done seem slightly pedantic, I can now see that she does actually have some spunk (stealing the line from Adrian here!). And talking about Adrian, he was the main reason I thought I would enjoy the book because I always was an Adrian fan and I was glad to get to see him a bit more in Bloodlines. He is good for a laugh, good to hang out with, and easy on the eyes..but we get to see a slightly more deeper side of him in this story. And I have to say, that last page, that last paragraph, that last line….. my heart was in my mouth and I am now desperate to get my hands on a copy of the next book in the series. Seriously, what an awesome way to end a story!
In short – great, fun, easy read with characters that we know and love…or don’t love but grow to love!
