A Million Suns by Beth Revis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
The second book in the ‘Across the Universe’ series did not disappoint. I only decided this when I had finished. I listened to this on audiobook and I really do believe that I have a different opinion of books if I listen to them rather than if I read them. There is a whole lot depending on the narrators voices and really, this can make it or break it for me. I remember at times while I was listening that I was finding Amy very annoying and that I was finding Elder a bit too wimpy (maybe this is what the author was trying to do though?). By the end though Elder had turned into my favourite character and I found Amy to be a much more complex character than I had originally thought. There were quite a few moments when I found myself holding my breath just waiting to hear what was going to happen next, and then I ended up walking the dog further than I intended just so I could keep on listening!
I do realise that I haven’t said anything about the story but you can get that from the blurb…. This was a fast paced story that had a lot of intrigue and twists and turns and then an ending that is worthy of a middle book…..everyone will now be hanging out for book three to find out what happens!
