A hidden truth.
Mortal enemies.
Doomed love.

Marked as special at an early age, Jacinda knows her every move is watched. But she longs for freedom to make her own choices. When she breaks the most sacred tenet among her kind, she nearly pays with her life. Until a beautiful stranger saves her. A stranger who was sent to hunt those like her. For Jacinda is a draki—a descendant of dragons whose greatest defense is her secret ability to shift into human form.

Forced to flee into the mortal world with her family, Jacinda struggles to adapt to her new surroundings. The only bright light is Will. Gorgeous, elusive Will who stirs her inner draki to life. Although she is irresistibly drawn to him, Jacinda knows Will’s dark secret: He and his family are hunters. She should avoid him at all costs. But her inner draki is slowly slipping away—if it dies she will be left as a human forever. She’ll do anything to prevent that. Even if it means getting closer to her most dangerous enemy.

Mythical powers and breathtaking romance ignite in this story of a girl who defies all expectations and whose love crosses an ancient divide.

Reading the blurb for this, and then the first twenty pages and I was excited. A story about draki, people which are descendant from dragons..cool right. In the first few pages The main character, Jacinda, manifests into a draki (dragon/human) and goes for a bit of a fly with her sister before being chased by hunters and then to protect her sister she creates a diversion in which she is shot in the wing and ends up hiding in a cave. A hunter, the tall, good-looking Will then finds her, still in her draki form, but instead of killing her, he lets her live and their romance begins. *swoon*

I liked the story, learning about the draki, learning about the hunters, a few twists and turns and a fair bit of romance…. I know Will shows up at Jacinda’s house at 1am, just to find out where she lives, after getting her address for the school records but this is fine with me (I was also never bothered by Edward Cullen sneaking into Bella’s house to watch her sleep!). There was a fair bit of back and forth with their relationship, one minute they were all over each other then the next minute they were ignoring each other, but again I don’t mind this kind relationship tension. If anything, I probably would liked a bit more in the story about the draki, but this might be part of book two. I am glad I read it, a good story…..not much else to say.
