A Corner of White (The Colours of Madeleine, #1)A Corner of White by Jaclyn Moriarty
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

First time I tried to read this, I just couldn’t get into it, and this time, it take me a little while but once I had worked out what was actually going on, I couldn’t get enough of this!
The story was broken into two different POVs, one in present day Cambridge with Madeleine who lived in a whimsical world of cakes and homeschooling. I couldn’t work out if this world was real and if Madeleine was a reliable narrator but once I stopped trying to work it out, I really enjoyed it. The other POV was from Elliott who lived in the Kingdom of Cello and this was a world I loved from the beginning. I had no doubts it was a magical world with wonderful characters.
The twist at the end of the story was excellent and now I am going to head in to book two with an open mind and big expectations!
Overall, a fantastic story filled with colours, science, princesses and butterfly children.
