Insurgent (Divergent, #2)Insurgent by Veronica Roth
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved Divergent so much that I was waiting and waiting and waiting for Insurgent to come out, and because I think that Veronica Roth wrote such an excellent book with Divergent, I was never worried that Insurgent wouldn’t be as good…..and I am happy to say that I loved Insurgent just as much.
I listened to this one on audiobook and it was great. There were so many different things going on, so many characters returning from Divergent that I grew so much closer to, many people dying, many people showing their true colours and loyalties. There was so much action, so much adventure and still loads of thoughtful and serious discussions between characters. And then there were Tris and Tobias. Ahh Tobias, gosh I love him so. As with the first book, Tobias couldn’t do a thing wrong in my mind and sometimes I could almost visualise his heart bursting with love for Tris. And good ole Tris, still a very independent girl who does what she believes is the right thing to do (I did have a few exclamations of ‘Oh Tris, don’t do that..just tell Tobias the truth and he will help you…’ but I am a bit of a ‘shining knight comes along to save the day’ kinda girl. And in the end I felt that Tris and Tobias’s relationship was solid, real and full of everything it should be.
And that ending…wow..I really didn’t see that coming and after picking my jaw up off the floor, I sighed with anticipation for book 3.

Timepiece (Hourglass, #2)Timepiece by Myra McEntire
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow..I loved this book!! I really liked the first one in this series, Hourglass, and I enjoyed Timepiece even more. As with the first book this one was full of mystery, intrigue with action and adventure thrown in for good measure. The characters relationships were perfect and while in book one I fell in love with Emmerson and Michael, in this book it was Kaleb and Lily that stole the show, although Em was still fantastic. I couldn’t read this one quick enough and my brain was working the whole time trying to work out what was really going on, who to trust and even who was real. A great book to get lost in…

Obsidian (Lux, #1)Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Okey Dokey then, so Jennifer L Armentrout is definitely an author that I can read if I want to get my swoon on! I have really enjoyed her other books as fun and exciting reads and Obsidian didn’t disappoint. I really liked the female MC, Katy – she is funny, loyal, brave, snarky..just like a typical teenager! And Daemon, without giving it too much thought (it is just a fun and exciting read after all), he is so swoon-worthy it was enough to make steam blow out my ears!
This was just the kind of book that I was looking for, there was a great story line with twists and turns, action and adventure, some laughs and some swoon. Nothing too difficult to think about but just a good book to sit back and flip through the pages quicker and quicker to get to the end….and now I really want to read the second book …reviews I have read lead me to believe that it is even better (and smokin’ hotter) than Obsidian!

Obsidian, 55% of the way through (thanks Kindle)
“Using his hands, he lowered himself slowly. There wasn’t an inch of space between our bodies. Air fled my lungs at the contact of his bidy against mine. He was male and ripped in all the places I was soft. Being this close to him was startling, causing an array of sensations to zing through me. I shivered. Not from the cold, but from how warm and wonderful he felt. I could feel every breath he took, and when he shifted his hips, my eyes went wide and I gasped.
Oh yeah, certain stuff was definitely working.”
